About Cheetahs
Cheetahs are the fastest land animal, able to run short bursts at up to 60 miles per hour (96 Km/h). Loose and rangy, cheetahs prey on gazelles, impalas, wildebeest calves, and other hoofed mammals. Widely protected in Africa, they are in less danger from the fur trade than from loss of habitat due to man’s activities.
