How to Get a Head Without Hunting
Walrus Head Sculpture
You are guaranteed to smile when you first meet this fat and friendly fellow.

Our walrus sculpture has a soft and cuddly faux fur coat, but its bristly whiskers remind one of the real thing. Our artist Merikay makes the tusks, the base sculpture, and the striking eyes by hand.

Click on a link below to order one for your home or office, or that of your favorite walrus lover!

One of Merikay’s walrus sculptures won an award at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, California. It was sold in the first half hour of public viewing. It now hangs in a home overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

About Walruses
Walruses live in and around the Arctic Ocean, which is to say the northern parts of North America, Europe, and Asia. According to MacDonald’s Encyclopedia of Mammals, “Eskimos see many human characteristics in walruses. They are social and gregarious, slow to mature and reproduce, fiercely protective and gently caring for their young, vocally communicative with each other, and long-lived.”
Walrus Head Sculpture
We keep this picture of a crocheted walrus on the web as an example of Merikay’s earlier work, and as a reminder to anyone who has built a collection of my crochet work over the years, that she will still do a crocheted version of any of our animal head sculptures as a commission.

If you crochet, please see our books on crocheting several kinds of animal heads and soft-stuffed birds.
